a bad cat two tone would be a similiar solution to the amp channel daisychaining technique but would actually give you more options. I have one and I love it. It is similiar to the pre-amp on JCM800 so you can get that kind of sound from it. It has two channels and true bypass with seperate tone circuits for each channel. It isn't a cheap pedel but after I played with mine I haven't found another pedal I am satisfied with. everybody will have their own two cents it is really up to you to find out what works with you.
