  • JFET trouble (IM A NOOB)

I am new at building guitar pedals and I decided to start out with a simple pedal. I have done an audio probe test on all parts of the circuit and i hear the signal just fine all the way up until the JFET's. But I hear nothing but crackling on the drain/source (in this case interchangable.... i think). Could someone please help this has been bugging me. A circuit diagram/ layout can be seen here: http://www.tonepad.com/getFile.asp?id=109
This diagram is less clear IMHO but ill inlcude it for the heck of it.

Don't know if it's any help or if I've got it right..but I've experied JFETs with different pinout connections depending on the manufactor..

check the datasheet from the specific manufactor of your JFETs..

    Regards

It should amplify with either of the JFETs removed. Try that.
You might need to vary the value of the 22k resistor, perhaps there should be a 4.5V voltage drop across the 22k.
