  • Toaster pu covers

I've built a couple of Rickenbacker "toaster" pups to try in my RIC 360/12 - wound to 7.5K DCR with 44awg PN. They sound good with a lower output than the original high gains, but more chime, as expected. Problem is I can't find any toaster covers, and I've had to use the high gain covers, which looks a little strange. Anyone know of a source?

The Rickenbacker boutique sells them from time to time as they have them in stock. Mike Parks has them sometimes as does Pick of the Ricks. Since Rickenbacker makes them all in house, and their production is a couple years back-ordered, there are bound to be shortages. I actually have three covers myself and I might be willing to sell a couple of them, but I have to take stock of what I have and see if I will need any or not. PM me if you're interested in them.

      Thanks Greg,
The problem I have being in Australia is that the RIC boutique and all the US based retailers will only sell and ship to Nth & Sth American adresses- even though there is currently no Australian distributor. I have to buy through the RIC Asia/Pacific distributor in Japan - they are ok but very expensive. The truss rods & 12 string nut I bought from them recently were almost 3 times the boutique price!

I'd love to get some toaster clone covers. I have a Ric bass neck pickup design I want to do... would look great in the toaster.

I have two vintage toasters. Maybe I'll make a mold, cast them in resin and paint them silver.
It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein
