    Cool! I like his stacks... plenty of copper clad circuit board everywhere.
    It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein

      Great stuff. Wow, when I get a loose wind like in one of the picks it ruins my night. Maybe it's not that big a deal? Those coils look a bit loose in general. I like the old school magnet charger too - similar to what I use. Thanks for the link.

          Bill lawrence Corona Workshop

          I did see a BIG lathe in the background in the others.

          That's a lot of machines to be having the coils wound elsewhere, don't you think? But such a small winder..

              I'd love a tour of his shop.

                Still trying to get my head around who is the real Bill Lawrence, and who is the not so real Bill Lawrence. Assuming it's been done to death on here. I'll do a search.

                    Willi Lorenz Stich is the real Bill Lawrence. That was his stage name for a long time... you can see where he got it: Will=Bill, Lorenz=Lawrence. Before it was Bill lawrence it was Billy Lorento.

                    But Bill Lawrence is also a trade name, and as such his former partner Jzchak Wajcman owns the name and still makes the original pickups that Stich designed and patented. On the Bill Lawrence USA website is the disclaimer:

                    Disclaimer: Jzchak Wajcman dba ?Bill Lawrence USA?, is not associated with the designer Bill Lawrence since 1984.
                    "dba" = "Doing Business As"

                    Stich is now Bill Lawrence Design, and has changed the name of the pickups to Wilde Pickups because of a lawsuit with his former partner.

                    Stich's pickups are better than the Bill Lawrence USA pickups. I had 2 of the original L-250's in my Tele, and a newer L-250T Tele bridge pickup. The newer pickup was microphonic and not as loud, and kind of thin sounding, even though it is an L-250 on the inside. After the breakup with his partner he put pickups out under he name OBL.

                    Stich has a LONG history of designing guitars and pickups for a lot of companies including Gibson (Super Humbucker, L6-S, S-1, Marauder) and even Fender. He designed the SCN pickups for Fender, and has his name on the patent.
