  • Ampeg B15 speaker

    I have a Ampeg B15 N- F ser. number on chassis is 022955.
The amp was making a buzz when I played an E.
I removed the speaker from the amp cab reconnected speaker and determined the buzz was from the spkr.
The spkr is a Fender P.S. 15 B ser. no. 0214 orange frame, large black heavy magnet and has a metal dust cap which I think is the cause of the buzz. I'm guessing this is not the original spkr.

What is a good replacement 15 inch spkr??
Is this Fender spkr worth anything?? I kinda of think it's junk. It's heavy and I could take it to the metal scrap yard.

I cloned a B15-N with a slight mod (four 6L6GC in the power amp) for my bands bass player. What I used for the cabinet was an "Eminence Kappa-15" speaker. It's rated at 450w rms and from it's specs it needs a rather small cabinet. It might be the right speaker for your amp. Not too expensive. And the tone is adorable.

      Hope this helps

That speaker is a Fender branded Gauss driver. They were really popular back in the day. On Ebay it will probably bring a decent price.
