tsl60 no sound from crunch or lead chanels

  • tsl60 no sound from crunch or lead chanels

    I have a tsl60 head that plays normal on clean chanel.when switching to crunch or lead the lights light up but no sound from chanels.Anyone with ideas?

    I'd sub each preamp tube one at a time to be sure they were OK, then I;d start exploring the channel switching circuits, like the stuff in the footswitch network - all those JFETs and the IC there.

      thank you for responding.I have switched tubes one by one and this did not help.i will check with your other sugestions.I am a novice at this,but having a small electronics background I am realy interested in learning more about amps.

        did you use a known good tube to sub in for the preamp positions?

        sounds like maybe a gain stage is not working which is usually one of the first 2 or 3 positions (V1, V2, V3). but then again, you should at least hear something from the speaker(s).

        also, are you changing channels using the footswitch? if yes, unplug the footswitch and use the front panel directly to eliminate the footswitch as a potential root cause of the problem.

        I had a TSL100 and one or more of the switches on the footswitch failed after a while...

          I had my freind look at it and it got fixed with a jfet.thanks for the replys.
