I can put my hands on a used Carr Mercury for $1699. The ability to select between 8, 2, 1/2 and 1/10th of a watt is very attractive. A bedroom practice amp and a jam nite amp all rolled into one. Is this amp "worth" that much coin?
I would say "no". But if I were to apply myself, I could build an all tube amp, P2P wired, that would have the same, or similar features, and probably build it for WAY less than half that price. Is it worth it to YOU?
