  • New Guy with a Line 6 question

    Hi guys!

First post and a quick question!

My guitar play uses a Line 6 amp, I do not know the model off hand.... But I can get it if need be.

I notice it has a rj45 port for connecting a line 6 foot pedal to toggle the effects. So since it has four channels and a cat 5 cable has 8 conductors, Is it safe to say that I could make a pedal using momentary switches on a rj45 connection?

Or could you tell me if the line 6 amps look for a 5v input or somthihng like that?

    Thanks a mill.

I'd think a schematic from line 6 would be most helpful

AMen, please post any you can find. Line 6 will not hand them out.

I think you will find the foot controllers for the Line 6 are circuits of their own, not simple one wire per button stomp switches. I think the cable sends power supply down to the pedal and there is also two-way digital communication between them.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

        but only the 15 w.

No. It's safer to assume that it's a proprietary connection of a sort that requires the schematic or an interface description from Line 6 to know.
