    Amp Diagrams

    Hi, New here. I've been playing guitar for a couple years now, but just got into amps and pedals and whatnot. Was wondering if anyone could direct me to a diagram of the inner workings of an amp. Doesn't need to be any specific amp, I'm just interested in the components and what they do. Good reading material on the subject would also be greatly appreciated.

    I've just posted some drawings of some of my amps, layouts and schematics. Tube Amps, Tube Guitar Amps, ThunderTweak Amplifiers I've got 1 watters, 10 watters, 18 watters and 50 watters and a couple channel switchers too. Much more info coming in the near future.

    Other than that try the Weber VST site, they have drawings (layout and schem) of many of their amp kits. Also ceriatone.com has lots of drawings of their amp kits. Between these places you'll find all the classics (Fender, Marshall, Vox) and the new classics as well like Dumble, Trainwreck, and Soldano. Also see EL34world.com for a very helpful "Library of Info".

      You're a saint. Thanks a bunch man. Looks a little complicated, but nothing I can't research. Anywhere I can find a list of components and what they do? I can wiki everything if not.

        Y'mean like the resistors, capacitors, tubes, etc? "Inside Tube Amps" by Dan Torres is a good 1st book to 'splain the basic "how it works" in guitar-player terms. You can find that many places, like tubesandmore.com or amazon.com. A lot of the other books you'll hear about will make more sense after you've read the Torres book.

            Check out these online tech books, scroll down to this one:

            Amplifiers, by H. Lewis York

            Great valve book for non-EE types like me. It's not "bullet-proof," but not dumbed-down too much, either...
