  • Current draw of a reverb transformer?

Does a reverb transformer have a current draw requirement like a tube does?

I ask because I'm wondering about putting a reverb circuit in a project using the existing transformers I have. I don't know the specs on the PT, it comes from an old Heathkit mono audio amp. The original Heathkit circuit is two 6EU7s, one 12AU7, two 7591s and a 5AR4 recto.

I'm planning to drop the second 6EU7 from the preamp circuit to put to use as a one-tube reverb circuit using a 12DW7. How do I figure in the requirements for the reverb transformer?

yep they sure do - but if you are running a pre-amp tube off them it doesn't matter because the current draw is about 10mA max for a parallel 12AT7 anyhow, and that is about the heaviest current draw for any sort of pre-amp tube

A typical fender BF RT will handle that easily.
