  • Marshall TSL122 sudden volumedrop

I have a TSL122 that suddenly and occasionally drops in volume, not permanently. Volume comes back but disappears again. It’s like a pumping effect. I changed all tubes and also did some modifications acc to tips from the net. Also mounted a couple of fans to reduce the head. After this mod it worked normally the first gig. 2nd gig it started to fail at the end. 3rd gig it failed as soon as I started. Thank god for my Lunchbox, that saved the gig.
Bias is OK. It stays steady at or around 80 mV.
No burned components (not visible anyway). No smell.
Have also checked the symptoms a bit deeper (not at a gig..). The volume fades but comes back with a pop (not loud, but defitive a pop-sound).
The symptom is not there all the time. It works just fine for a while, suddenly it starts to fade a number of times, then back to normal again. This repeats but with different timing.
After cleaning all pots and jacks and also resoldered all tubesockets the problem still remains.
I just noticed that the bias dropps to 0 when I have the sound drop!
    Any idea?

Don't know if this link is of any help but it has to do with drifting bias voltage values. Sounds like it could be a solder joint problem in the bias circuit. Or the effects loop jacks going open.
