Squeal From Fender M-80 Chorus Solid Stae Amp

I have a Fender M-80 amp. I get this serious squeal from the amp even with all instruments unplugged and all controls on zero with all gain and chorus buttons off leaving the amp in clean channel mode. The pitch is so high it hurts my ears and is 10 times worse than a sqealing microphone.

Has anybody experienced this problem before with a Fender M-80 Solid State Amp or any related type amp?

Help would be greatly appreciated if someone could give me some ideas how to fix this problem before taking it to a repair center.

I'd check for cracked solder on the board(s) first.....
