I've got a 77 jmp 50 watt head and a 2x12 cab,jcm 800 series.the cab has16 ohm,12s wired in parallel to get an 8 ohm load.I'm going to buy a matching cab with 8 ohm ,12s wired the same way.My question is can i run both cabs without damaging my amp. What ohmage should i set the head to run. Also is anyone familiar with celestion super 65s. Thanks, tvjr

You CAN plug both cabs into the amp. The resulting load is both cabinets in parallel for a load of 2.66 ohms. The four ohm setting would be fine. But... You will be sacrificing some volume wih the mismatch AND your 4 ohm cab will recieve twice the power of your 8 ohm cab. If the Super 65's are like the other "budget" Celestions they sound hashy and weak. And these would be the speakers with the most power applied to them. I suppose if they're inefficient enough the two cabinets may balance out somewhat. I don't know what Celestions your 8 ohm cab has but you really may be better off continuing to use it by itself all things considered.
