Happy NEW YEARS!!!!!!
Hi Chuck,
Both look good to me.
The reason I want a power soak is that I have just bought a Peavey Vypyr 30, and when I tried it in the shop, the volume was not a problem...................but for bedroom use........way too loud.
Using the master volume between 0-1 needs a VERY delicate touch.
What I will be using it for is to "tame" the master volume, and give me more movement on the pot.
I will let you know how I get on...........
Thanks again for the schematics.
Pete
Great. I've built the simplified version into some of my customer orders and for a purely resistive attenuator it works great down to about -12dB (which on my personal amp is about as loud as a shout). After that it starts to compress and change the percieved EQ of the tone a bit. Always happy to help save a marriage.
