problematic Fender stage 185

I've been having some trouble with my fender stage 185. mid practice yesterday the sound began cutting in and out. at first i thought it to be the cable but after switching them this was not the case. i then swwitched input jacks from channel one to channel two and it still didn't fix anything. so i wonder does anyone have any idea on wht it could be?

Try running a patch cord from the effects send to the effects return.
The return jack has normally closed contacts that allow the signal to pass through.
If the jack is dirty or corrupt it will cause intermittants.
