  • 6L6 dilemma...

I recently had decided to go with the SED's for my Naylor SD60 but after much conversation and reading many reviews it seems the TAD GC and WGC STR's are some really kickass sounding bottles. Has anyone compared these 3 tubes to each other. I just can't decide what to order.

Well, the WGC looks like a 6P3S-E

I haven't compared those tubes in the same amp with (also important) the same bias-voltages at the "correct" plate-current but:

TAD 6L6GC-STR: bright, clear, lots of power
SED: somewhat warmer, lots of power
TAD 6L6WGC-STR: thick, warm, fat, slightly less power

The TADs are chinese tubes but well tested & matched.
      Love, peace & loudness,
      Chris
