This hash/virgins stuff is amusing but the following is REAL. The most expensive coffee you can buy is from Java. This particular coffee is from the beans that have passed through the digestion of the civets [a species of cat] that live thereabouts. There is something on the coffee bean which the civets like to eat. The coffee bean is not digested and some suckers have to trudge round sorting thru' civet crap to find these beans. These are made into this megabucks coffee. The coffee cork-sniffers maintain that an edge of acidity or something has been modified by the civets' digestive doo-dahs.

Check this out, ye of little faith, on 3w.finestcoffee.co.uk

        You have to laugh, no?

I understand that Jimi just used to call the guitar shop in London/NYC and tell them to put a Strat, any Strat, first off the shelf, in a cab.

Hmm. I wonder if any coffee-cork sniffer has taken note of the fact that civet-sh&t coffee beans released some of their flavor to the surrounding scat and brewed just the - er, 'extracted' material without the beans?

Boy, talk about refined!! That ought to be more costly. And if I were a civet-coffee-bean 'extractor', I'd hire a good PR firm to convince someone that the 99% of the raw materials that are thrown away are even BETTER than the stuff I was picking out. There'd be someone who'd go for it.
Amazing!! Who would ever have guessed that someone who villified the evil rich people would begin happily accepting their millions in speaking fees!

Oh, wait! That sounds familiar, somehow.

There are many manufacturers playing on the ignorance of customers. One such scam is the "monster wire" deception.
Pure BS. There IS no improvement, compared to cable from radio shack or a hardware store.

True Story: In a triple blind test, professional listeners were challenged to find which speaker cable sounded better.
The professionals listened to multiple types of speaker wires, and judged.
The winner: COAT HANGER WIRE. The professionals, overwhelmingly choose "coat hanger wire" as sounding better than expensive Monster Cable.
They did not know that the speakers had been connected with coat hangers. BUT they voted that it sounded better than "pure crystal copper" wire costing $$$!

And so you are starting to see just how foolish this "monster wire" craze has become. And just how gullible people are.
