The cloudiness of the power tube means it's probably shot (lost it's vacuum). Too bad, looks like NOS ones can be expensive
Western Electric 350B
If someone were actually going to spend that I'm wondering if a tube manufacturer could restore vacuum and how much it would cost.Originally posted by EnzoI have a sign in my shop that says, "Never think up reasons not to check something."

Unless you are using this as a replacement missing module for restoring the antique radio it came out of I wouldn't bother with it. Much more trouble and expense than it is worth IMHO. Maybe you could use the iron to build another single ended amp using modern tubes and a SS rectifier.

The preliminary report is in!
The 350B tube was a ruse! That tube does not belong there. The builder took the time to write down values on the underside of the chassis and it calls for 6L6 and 5Y3 rectifier. Everything else checks out as good. The parts are all old, good quality stuff.
Ron is going to install some nos RCA tubes in it, change the power cord and see what happens.
It appears to be based on an early fender/rCA circuit and is basically a Champ with a 6L6, putting out around 12 watts, based on what Ron sees so far.
The speaker may be an old alnico Jensen, but Ron is still waiting on some confirmation there.
The two extra pots appear to be adjustments related to the 6J7 preamp tubes.
Looks like I may have a real gem here!
