  • Peavey Series 260C Bass Combo

    Hi

I replaced the damaged mains lead to my combo which involved de-solering the old and re-soldering the new.

When I switched my combo on, it stayed on for a second and switched off again.

Any Ideas as to what could be wrong?

I have done electronic work before which involved alot of soldering but I am no electronic engineer.

    Your help will be appreicated.

Do you have some kind of Volt-Ohm meter? Check the power switch and the fuse.
WARNING! Musical Instrument amplifiers contain lethal voltages and can retain them even when unplugged. Refer service to qualified personnel.

Was the original cord damaged when the amp was on?
What kind of damage are we talking about?
I can only assune that you put the new wires where the old ones were.
Black to black. (hot / line 1)
White to white. (return/ line 2)
      Green to chassis ground.
Yeah, and as Loudthud suggested, use an ohmeter.
