  • Low Watt Tube Amp Advice?

I have been playing guitar for 9 years. But I never used tube amps yet. (I mostly used zillion processors and SS amps)

I decided to record my songs. Maybe a mini album will come in a few years. So I decided to move my gears to tube amps level. But I have a problem. In my apartment, I tried my friends 15w tube amp with 1x12 cab and its too loud for my neighbours. And again I tried 1w tube amps and it works like charm. So I understood that 1w tube amps is suitable for my home. I have no budget problem. So I can decide to buy great 100w all tube amps. But Even with attenuators, 100w or 50w heads will give min 4-5w volume level in my home.

I found 1w Blackstar Ht1. But I think its not all tube amp? Btw can we crank power tube of ht1 as normal all tube amp? Its sound great but I have no expreience on tube amps. Another option is 1w DIY All Tube Amp. I have also friends which make commercial DIY guitar tube amps. What do you advice? Buying 1w custom all tube amp or Blackstar Ht1.

Sorry for my stupid questions about of all tube amps. But I really have no experience. I need your help.

Blackstar amps are not "all tubes", but that's not necessarily an issue, preamp and power amp are tube-based, they use AOP to achieve more gain and tone control, clever i think, and they are pretty versatile.
If you can afford a custom amp, it would be the best, but with no experience in tube amps, you would have a hard time making a choice.

Thanks for reply. Yes unfortunately I have no experience about tube amps. Btw I can easily feel the differences between tube amp and solid state amp when I hear. But I cant feel differences about half tube (hybrid or ?) and all tube stuffs. Blackstar sound is like all tube for my ears. Absolutely maybe there is huge differences betwen blackstar ht1 and all tube amps. But as I said unfortunatelly I cant know more specific tube sound differences.

For example : I listened Blackstar Ht5 /Ht1 and Marshall Class 5 sound sample on youtube. But I liked Blackstar sound much more then Marshall class 5. But my ears are not important because I'm new in tube amps world.

Ears are the most important thing, you are just more on a more modern thing, so, go Blackstar
