Marshall JCM900 4100 ??What valves can i use??

Hey guys happy new year to you all.

I have got myself a JCM900 and wondered what output valves you recon i use as replacements?. At the moment its running Ruby 5881/6n3c-e. The gold sticker inside the amp says to just use 5881! so do i have to use them or can i use others like EL34?

i'v seen some 6n3c-e on the bay at a very good price $23 a pair, they are matched would you think they would be good to use?

The JCM900's changed between 5881's and EL34's. The sticker tells you which version you have (5881). There are several components which are different depending on the version. If you want to run EL34's you will have to get the changes done. Schematics are available for both versions.
