  • Help repairing Behringher Vtone GMX 210

    Hi
I bought a V Tone GMX 210 at auction, I have checked that it works using the headphone jack. The problem is the speakers aren't plugged into the works. The speakers look to be wired in series (if thats what its called) that is there is a loose wire going into the terminal on one speaker then another wire going from the other terminal of that speaker to the terminal of the second speaker and then a loose wire coming out of the other terminal of the second speaker so I have 2 loose wires. The only place I can see were they might plug into on the board is 4 long metal prongs that look like they are for a plug of some sort.
    My questions are
    !) is this correct?
    2)were do I get a plug
3)what wires go onto what prongs.
Can anyone point me in a direction for answers
    Thanks

First of all, the GMX 210 is a 'stereo' amplifier.
There are two separate LM3886 amplifier ic's.
One for Left & one for Right speaker.
Confirm this by looking at the back panel.
There should be a jack marked 'Ext Spkr L' & a jack marked 'Ext Spkr R'.
If that is correct you could simply wire the speakers into those jacks.
The left speaker to the L jack & the right speaker to the R jack.
It is a Tip Ring 1/4" jack.
The + of the each speaker will go to the tip & the - will go to the ring.
If you want to wire the speakers internally, you will have to follow the schematic & verify where the wires go.
The fact that the speaker wires were disconnected scares me.
Either the speakers are bad (check with an ohmmeter) or one or both of the amplifiers may be bad.
The 'headphone out' is a separate circuit from the power amp, so that just tells you that that specific circuit is o/k & that the preamp is working.
