A pal asked me about this amp model. It's manufactured 1996. Anyone with insights on this amp?

They are sound enough on a functional level. I've read that the mid 90's RI Bassman occasionally burnt up plate resistors because the factory part is under rated. Easy repair/upgrade. I can't say about the Vibrasonic. At that age there may be some maintenance needed if the amp hasn't been serviced. Tubes and or filter caps. You could expect that to cost one fifty to three hundred. Or do it yourself for the cost of parts. I know your capable.
For a sonic evaluation you should probably visit the Gear Page or Harmony Central. Even then it's just a bunch of opinions from guys that love it because they have one. Basically, if your friend likes it, and the price is right, it's a good amp for them."Take two placebos, works twice as well." Enzo
"Now get off my lawn with your silicooties and boom-chucka speakers and computers masquerading as amplifiers" Justin Thomas

You can't just expect consent." Helmholtz
