  • Roland JC-120 Chorus amp

Hello, I have owned 2 of these awesome amps. This is my second one. For some reason the amp cut-out at one of my shows on the weekend. After doing a bit of trial and error, it appears to be the guitar input jack on the amp. The jack is intermittent. Is this something I can fix or is it better to take to a tech? Is the amp difficult to take apart? Has anyone else experienced this problem? What would the most likely cause of this be?
    Thanks

Depending on when your amp was manufactured, the input jacks are either chassis-mount and connect to the preamp board via a shielded cable, or the jacks are mounted on their own little circuit board. As amp repairs go, this is one of the easier ones going. If you've got soldering experience, I say give it a whirl. The trickiest part with jack replacements is getting ahold of the correct type of jack, actually.

And to answer your other question, it's not uncommon for jacks to wear out. I've replaced dozens of them....
