    Well, ended up with a 750r for tha cathode resistor, bringing wattage down to 13.77. The amp sounds fine now but does flub a little at higher volume on bass notes. Probably the speaker... It's close enough to correct to give the amp back to the guy, let him play it, and then decide if he thinks it's worth replacing the speaker.


    Another question though.. if this were YOUR amp, would you bring the bias down to consume a little less power, and if so, how much wattage would you want to see?
