  • Fender Silverface re-issues

For those who haven't heard of or seen these yet:
FSR 68 CUSTOM PRINCETON REVERB 120V
    68 CUSTOM DELUXE REVERB 120V
FSR 68 CUSTOM TWIN REVERB 120V
Oddly, the only signs of these are from the above retailer, and another on ebay, both Canadian. No trace of them at any US retailer or the Fender website. Somebody seems to have jumped the gun on the release date and may find themselves in a bit of hot water with Fender. As 2 separate sellers have leaked it, maybe a sales rep. dropped the ball?

Interesting. Not just the cosmetics, a few circuit mods too.

I suspect that the Custom "Bassman" channel is based on the 5F6A Bassman, which is Fender-speak for early Marshall, and not the BF/SF Bassman heads. As to why they wanted to make the amps silverface... I guess they did that to differentiate them from the BF reissue amps.

Yes they are there now. When I originally posted (late Aug.), Fender had not mentioned them on their website, but 2 CDN retailers had jumped the gun and released the info before Fender even did. Very big no-no and I imagine they got quite a rap on the knuckles.

OK. I understand now. I wasn't paying attention to the posting dates.
