  • Blackstar HT5 series mini stack question...

So, in August I bought the Blackstar HT-5 mini stack with a 10" cab. Im looking for a bigger sound though. So I've been doing some research but I'm unsure of weather or not I can hook up the Blackstar HTV-212 160w 2x12 cabinet with the 10" or if I should run it without. I'm not even sure if I can hook it up in general. It seems to be made for the HT series of heads, so I am going off assumption that it is worth the buy. Any help is appreciated.

I know it is probably a stupid question, but its tax season and I need new equipment anyways, haha...

It all comes down to ohms.

What is the DC resistance of the 10" speaker.

If the 2x12 cabinet is the same, plug it in.

I played a bar gig last night with an Epiphone VJ through a 160 watt rated open back 2x12 cab. With a live drummer and no problems. Even had to use my Weber Mini Mass Attenuator for the first set. It's the head version but very similar to the Blackstar internally, if not identical. I would not be surprised that if you took it apart that there are unused multi ohm taps on the OT. I would wire the amp so you could use the internal speaker or not.
