Use a variac and watch the filter caps' leakage current as you bring up the voltage. You want to slowly bring them up to rated voltage, or as close to it as possible, then leave them there for 15-30 min. This reforms the electrolyte. You may not have to replace any filter caps if you try this. Pull the tubes and use SS rectifiers temporarily for this.

My friend whom purchased that head, said the owner had it reconfigured to a slave and he wanted it changed. There was a dual gang 500 K potentiometer still mounted inside, so I reconfigured that to attenuate the master volume via the power tubes grids each and I'll tell ya that amp had a mojo that I never encountered since.

Unfortunately the owner was cash starved and parted with that marshal gem....he now regrets selling that one
