Yes, but Class B and very cold biased Class AB amps sound like crap, so if you want rock god tone and high output power, the output tubes usually have to take a beating or you can go with larger tubes like the KT88 with a higher Pda rating.

Question of EL34

I power it up, not too many adjustment, just have 420V, happens to be 33mA without even touching the bias. I cranked to 1/4. It's loud!!! It sounded quite different from 6L6 and 6V6. 6L6 and 6V6 are similar. Of cause By increasing from 400 to 420, I raise the preamp voltage too. This one is much brighter, stronger but lack bottom. Very British tone. I am starting to worry the WGS Veteran 30 might not give me enough bottom.

It is very loud!!! It is not as bright when cranking up. I have the preamp plates average about 240V( high) together with the EL34, It gives a very heavy sound ( more the Marshall type) and I am liking it so far. I can never get this thick heavy sound from 6L6 or 6V6.
I just received the WGS Veteran 30 and is humming in the garage with 60Hz. It won't be ready until late. I might cheat a little and just run only 6 hours so I can crank it up tonight.
I just ordered 4 Shuguang EL34. The two I have is so lopsided one almost double the current than the other, there is no way I can give it a good adjustment. Right now, one is about 35mA and the other is close to 60!!!
