My friend brought this amp from on line site...with seller's notice work's great but needs looked at!!
He did try a new fuse but no luck, ok pop it round and we're look things over and warm the coffee pot at the same time.. now on looking at it I found snapped rear fuse cover were the 240 ac sits waiting to bite wondering hands also broken volume pot plus cracked mains plug. quick change of the plug and power her up..
it sounded rough as it tried to blurt it out quick pull the plug and work started
Now most of you who's worked on these amp's know they have front pre-amp op-amp circuits and valve power stage with op-amp phase circuit(not a fan as like valve phase here) all volts correct in pre-amp part +/-16 there's also a feed tap with zener reg that goes to the phase circuit. I found not only the zener reading 39 ohms but a few out of spec 470 ohms resistors reading 510 ohms. new parts and tidying up she burst in to action with full warm tones.
I did say, I doubt it was working correctly when sold...watch out
