  • Portable, lighter footswitchable 3 channel tube "head/combo.

Looking for a more portable, lighter footswitchable 3 channel (clean, crunch, lead) tube amp "head/combo".
A combo will always be heavier than a portable head and a 1x12 cabinet; but i still consider one.
On the sonic range of a friedman brown eye or peavey 5153. Plexi territory with lots of gain, for hard rock and metal.

Independent eq's for each channel would be good but not essential.

Do you know of any amp that matches this criteria?

Hughes&Kettner tubemeister 36W is a nice head but simply not enough gain; for me.
Plus it's not on the sonic range of my two favorite amps; friedman brown eye & peavey 5153.

Hope you can shed some options close to what i look for.
I don't consider a Kemper or Axe FX for the moment!!!

Have you tried out the Peavey Vypyr Pro or the Vypyr VIP series? They come as large as 100 watts, or 40 watt models. They have a power control on them so you can dial the 100w down to 1w if you want. They are capable of a zillion tones, and there is an available effect/control footpedal system, the Sanpera, that adds a lot of capability. Visit your local store and try one.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

Thanks Enzo! This amp is a good inexpensive option to the things i mentioned.
I am considering the 20W Vypyr VIP 1, until i either get a fractal fx2 or the Friedman BE100.

Excellent option you gave me, once again! Thanks a lot!
