  • bassman LTD as speakercab for a 5E3 head

i'm seriously considering getting a 5E3 from nik @ ceriatone.
i already have a bassman LTD reissue with jensen P10R's.

how well would it work if i were to unplug the speaker connector for one of those P10r's and make a speakercable with a speaker connector on one side and a jack on the other to plug into the 5E3 head?
i can do this with 2 of the bassman speakers, since the 5E3 has 2 speakeroutputs at 8 ohm.
(with some serial and parallel wiring i guess i could get the 4 speakers to work with the 5E3, but that would be a little more complicated i guess...)
thinking about it, it might be more interesting not to use a direct speakercable with a speaker connector, but make a small box with a jack and put it on the "floor" inside the bassman?

practically i'm afraid the speaker connectors with ware out if i switch between the bassman and the 5E3 to much...

    for tone... 1x10" with a 5E3 isn't very usual...
2x10" sounds like a good alternative to 1x12"...
anyone have experience with any number of 10" speakers connected to a 5E3?

any input on this idea will be much appreciated. i'd love a 5E3 and i love my bassman. using them at the same time through the same set of speakers won't be possible i believe, so i'd like to find a way to use the same speaker for the 2 amps, one at a time. a practical solution...
until 1 save up some cash for a 5E3 combo cabinet or a speakercabinet for the 5E3.

    thx for any input!!!
Working...
