  • Randall RG100 Looping pop sound

    Hey guys,

I recently acquired a Randall RG100. It kind of wants to work, but sounds like it keeps rebooting (so to speak). Rather than trying to explain the symptoms in detail, I've attached a YouTube video below instead. There is a little more information in the description section on YouTube. (Click the title on the video below to go to the main YouTube site).

    Any ideas?

    Thanks guys!
    StiffCookie

Edit: Sorry I just realised that I posted this in the wrong section, I have reposted it in the maintenance and repair section but I don't know how to delete this one, sorry!

That effect could be caused by any number of things.

Failing power supply capacitors comes to mind.

    Failing solder joints.

    Dirty FX loop jack.

      Hey Jazz,

Thanks for the reply, I've had a look at the joints and the FX Loop. I'll check/test the caps over the weekend and maybe reflow the joints anyway if I get stuck.

      Cheers!
