Delta Blues Reverb Mod?

I got a used Peavey Delta Blues and noticed it had an additional 1/4" jack on the back.

When I took the chassis out it looks like it is connected to where the Reverb tank connects.

Anybody seen this mod before or have an idea what it is for? I plugged the guitar into it and got no sound.

I haven't seen most mods, but it looks to me like that added a footswitch to kill the reverb just like Fender did for decades.

The existing two button foot switch controls channel and trem.

You were right. That is exactly what it is; footswitch jack for reverb control.
