verticle input jcm 800's

Hi, Was wondering if anyone could tell me what the hype over the verticle input jcm 800's is about..better tone than horizontal input?..any help would be much appreciated as im thinking of picking a 50 watter..thanks

The vertical input models have the pots mounted to the chassis with leads going to the pc board as opposed to the pots being mounted directly onto the pc boards.
The pc mounted pot connections have a tendency to become intermittant due to the stress on the board.
