  • Is this a AG-15R Rat Fink amp?

The front is marked AG-15R, the rear has no manufacturer and says made in Korea. Some internet sleuthing has turned up an identical amp called "Rat Fink" made by Lace, which is also made in Korea. Looks exactly the same except mine is green instead of red, and does not have the Rat Fink badges although there seems to be two screws exactly where one badge should be. Apparently the Rat Fink amps are very rare and I can't find any more information on it.

Mine looks like the real deal except it's green instead of red. The serial number looks legit although for some reason the PO peeled it off. Just looking for confirmation that this is a Rat Fink and the story behind it, if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Rare is one thing, valuable is another. One ebay seller asking price often does not reflect true value.
No reason to suspect it's not the same manufacturer. Lace was an importer, and I'd guess they came up with (and possibly licensed) the 'rat fink' name? If so, no, yours is not really a 'rat fink' but made by the same manufacturer and identical aside from cosmetics.

edit: looks like the 'rat fink' name was licensed for the red ones with that name on them. http://www.ratfink.org/rat_fink_guitars/index.html

Itīs the cheesiest cheapest amp available, period,so who cares?
One of those 5W RMS, (10W is mains power consumption) TDA2003 powered, cheapest of the cheap 6.5" speaker which come under a zillion brands in $199 beginner kits: Guitar + Amp + Cable + pick where Guitar alone covers about 80% of kit price, rest is "accessories".

Like the amplifier component on these kits:

there must be a huge Korean Factory making these by the containerload, under any label you can imagine.

I saw a madman asking $420 for one on EBay.

Maybe a good intentioned but no clue Parent buys it for Junior, happy that after some haggling he got the price down to, say, $200 or so.

Real price (if new) around $49.

thanks for the replies. i just really wanted to know what kind of amp this was since i have never seen one nor can I find any info on it. not concerned with how much it's worth, i picked it up for $30 and it sounds great for that price, plus it has reverb too? if i want my guitar to sound like angels are singing I'll use my sunn model t.
