i have a PT with the codes 125p7d - 606342 (fender bassman ?) and an OT from a musicman hd130 w/tube PI .
anybody know to what extent are these compatible ?
Did googling turn up a datasheet of any sort? I haven't had much luck in that regard, but it's worth a shot.
The PT should be pretty easy to characterize. Just hook it up to AC (carefully, and may be a good idea to put a fuse on it first) and see what comes out.
The OT you can characterize with a little more work. There is a post in the theory section on that right now I think.

thanks for taking the time !
i did find some info online but it was conflicting , as far as the PT specs go .
ive got a little setup i made to test PTs , thats my next step .
im familiar with the musicman OTs , knowing that they did ran around 65W on low power , and the PT is for about 40W , i was wonder what difference in headroom that would produce . i figure i could run 4 EL84s and a 12AX7 PI .
my reasoning behind this is : i found a musicman 210 hd130 w/ tube PI in the trash about 10+ yrs ago . here recently started messing with it , and found that it didnt have the orignial PT in it (had the 125P7D instead) and the bias was no longer on the preamp board , and some other oddities (someone did a real crappy fix/mod and fecked it up) .
so , my goal is to make a pseudo musicman ex hd130 thing . im gonna run the preamp on 9v , stick a 6M resister where the reverb springs should be , 12AX7 PI , and a tube poweramp section (EL84s? instead of EL34s) .
anyway , i hope i hadnt posted this in the wrong section .
thank you for the response !
