  • Bass amp to guitar amp.

    Hi there,

My friend bought cheap old bass amp(15watt) by mistake instead of guitar amp. It contain TDA7350A chip. As you know guitar usually sounds weird in bass amp. He asked me to convert this to guitar amp.

Now i know it may not be possible to convert this into guitar amp easily(as far my knowledge is concerned).

So i decided to build diy guitar chip amp from its spare parts. So tell me wat can i use from bass amp spare parts, other than it transformer or case .

Do i need to change speakers?

I think only a guitar preamp will sufficient to make it good for guitar. Correct me if i am wrong.

So please share your advice and links.

And about me, iam doing diy electronic stuff from reading guides on internet with very less knowledge of theory. And from this year i will be starting B.E. in Electronic.

and sorry for bad English and typos.

Get some purple tape and cover the "Bass" in the label and write in white marker "guitar". You will essentially be doing the same thing major manufacturers do.

Have you played the guitar into it? How does it sound? I have a bass amp and it will play the guitar clean ok if I lower the bass control to 0 and raise the treble to 10. And that's playing it into my 2x12 guitar cabinet.
Now Trending: China has found a way to turn stupidity into money!

Agree. I also own a cheap chinese bass amp with TDA2030A and I was surprised that the clean guitar sounds quite good thru it. It is only matter to set properly the tone knobs. For distortion/overdrive you can always use a pedal.
