  • 1750A reverb Driver as OT in Firefly build?

Hey just wondering if you guys think a hammond 1750 reverb driver would make the cut for a firefly build. The firefly schem suggests a 125A at 22.5k primary for 8ohm out and the reverb driver is 22.8k primary for 8ohm out and its rated at 3.5 watts which is definitly enough to cover 1.5 watts.

Looks like i may have answered my own question here but chime in with any other concerns here.

Reminds me of AcePepper's "amoeba" design. See http://music-electronics-forum.com/t17167/.

I know this is an old thread, but hopefully you haven't bought the transformer yet. You cannot use this transformer with a firefly because the FF is push/pull and requires a center tap on the OT primary. The reverb transformer is not center tapped so it will not work with the circuit as-is. You could likely modify the firefly to have a single-ended output stage with the two triode sections in parallel, but then it wouldn't be a firefly any more
