  • Jupiter Beeswax caps

Has anyone tried using the Jupiter Beeswax caps in their amp as a coupling cap, and if so, what did you think of the results?

How about the Jupiter "vintage" tone caps?

    Thanks,

    Steve

If it's real beeswax, they must shed a beautiful, sweet, soothing smell when warm.
Besides that, don't think it affects the sound.
I doubt *Bees* wax has ever been used, in any case Carnauba-wax or another stronger /cheaper one, and paraffin from the 50's until today.
Or at most that might have been used to dip homemade wrapping paper/aluminum or tin foil capacitors in 1918, by a Wireless Experimenter .

Waxes are flammable, are they not? Do you really want to put something coated or containing wax into your amp? Remeber that old saying - shit happens.

You know what they say about people making stuff in their garage? The address for this outfit is in a residential neighborhood.

                  Hi Steve

I tryed the Jupiter wax cap in my Hifi 300B tubes amps. The tone wass very "agressive" with lot of high frequency (kind of hiss) so I decided to change the cap for Jensen PIO and my amps became real Hifi amps, the tone is now soft and pleasant. That my own experience.
