I'm sold on the orthography and the "chasis is thin guage copper".

Well the trannies could be worth the $0.99 list price at least (and maybe the lamp holder and the input jack and the tube sockets (assuming they ain't too mangled)

Yup... $20.99 is a good price for those trannies (and whatever else you could strip from that thing).

Don't know if it's from someone here but I have seen projects here that were just as flawed. Layout and lead dress rules seem to get skipped by many novice builders. That's OK, more salvage for me.

Put it on "watch" in your "My Ebay" page and steal those transformers.

That is some scary looking monster he made. Nice soft copper chassis. I wouldn't want to be in the house when that thing gets turned on.

Well, the transformer was made in Canada, home of Gold Medal Olympic hockey.

Looks like the chassis was made using Hockey Sticks, maybe a team project.

Me too. Sheesh. It's so wrong.

I have a Weber kit amp that wasn't a whole lot better than that, and I ended up doing a complete rewire job. The internal bias pot was sort of dangling in space. I'm kinda sorry I didn't take photos of it before I rewired it.

Here's an allegedly trainwreck clone that showed up here for a look see

That TW clone looks like some of the amps i did when i was starting out... before i realized that a star ground won't fix bad lead dress.

Anybody notice that the output transformer is not a single ended type? There is a recent thread where a new build with problems went round and round for a couple of weeks and the problem turned out to be the builder didn't use a single ended OT.

                        Here's the thread:

WARNING! Musical Instrument amplifiers contain lethal voltages and can retain them even when unplugged. Refer service to qualified personnel.

Oh, so I'm not crazy! I did see a PP OT

This is some meaty PT for a Champ too. This is their guitar line replacement for a Vibrolux or Tremolux.

One could make a nice 2X6L6 Deluxe style amp with those.

There is no way I'd turn that thing on as is though!
Damn, I have a 6K6GT amp I've built out of friggin perfboard that looks like a pro job compared to that.

talk about a "hammered copper chassis"!

were they going for the distressed "relic" look and sound?

Yeah, THAT is one relic look.
Or maybe there is a new style of primeval look.
