  • cable from amp to speaker. what is it?

    hi guys!
i changed my mind, now my first project will be a tweed princeton.

i have a question: what kind of cable is the one from the amp to the speaker?
is it a normal mic cable?
and what about the speaker jack and the speaker-jack socket?

    thanks guys.

    p.s.
do you know a place to buy a 5f2 chassis in europe?

No, do not use a low level audio cable for a speaker wire.
Use regular stranded wire for speaker leads.
For very short leads (a foot or so) anything thicker then 20g is fine but if you have longer speaker leads, use something much thicker.
    16G or so.
Remember the DC resistance of the speaker cable is in series with the speaker load so, if you have a 4 ohm speaker and a longer run of speaker wire that measures at +1 ohm, then the real load is 5 ohms and 1/5 of the power is being eating up by the speaker wire that doesn't make a single sound.
It's gets worse if the speaker load is really low like 2 ohms.

Check with the Tube Amp Doctor in Germany for a chassis.
He sells all the MOJO stuff and should have something.
Use a 5F2A chassis and design though... it is a better small 3-5 watt amp.
