EF86 question...

Well, I'm taking the plunge, building a homebrew with an EF86 based preamp for the first time. I see this tube type has an internal shield with pinout at pins 2 and 7. I've read the internal shield can be connected to either signal ground or to the cathode, with pretty good arguments for each. My question is (assuming I'll connect the internal shield to ground), do I connect just one pin (pin 2), or both pins, 2 and 7 to ground? Should I connect pins 2 and 7 together, then run a wire to ground or run two separate wires to ground? Thanks for your help and advice in adv.
