  • Deluxe reverb Lite

Hi, after building a 5E3, I would like to build a DELUXE REVERB AMP (AB763) but without NORMAL channel and without the vibrato unit. What mods to do ? Just pull off all the components of this units ? No need to adjust B+, C+, D+ ?

In a first time (low cost), i don't need the reverb unit (i can use my holy grail reverb stompbox), can i disconnect all this unit ?

    Thank you.

    Kind regards.

I don't know about removing the vibrato, but I was once thinking about a single channel deluxe reverb. I modded a schematic and layout for this, here they are.

In terms of current draw, the 12ax7s are negligible. I'd *think* that you could remove a few of those without changing up the power supply too much. You'd snip the vibrato unit out at the bias supply and where it feeds into the power amp (between the 220k resistors right before power tubes).

You could probably take the ab763 no reverb model and strip out what you don't want like I did.

Well, naturally, Fender never made a Deluxe Reverb without reverb. They did make a blackface Deluxe, however. Here's a schematic:

Snipping out the vibrato circuit and one of the channels would be a cinch. You could then remove the 0.047uF coupling cap and 220k mix resistor leading to the phase inverter.

          Thank you Scott.

          On your schematic the second 1/2 7025 share a 820R/25u with the 1/2 7025 on next channel (c). So, i must connect (c) to a 1500r/25u ?

          Kind regards.

Another small thing, can i use 22uf/450v caps instead of 16uf/450v ?

            kind regards.

              Good catch. Yes to both!

Take a look at the California Dreamer project over at the AX84 site. Thats pretty much what you're looking for.
