Yunger, it looks amazing and the build is absolutely professional. Congratulations!

How does it sound? What would you have done differently, if anything? And more importantly, what's the next build?!

Reminds me a little bit of a Standel. Nice work!

        thanks!
it is the definition of o.c.d. but does just what i wanted it to do....neat, simple, versatile, lightweight(under 40lbs), sounds good at low volume, sounds huge for it's size, quiet as a mouse, and i don't have to worry about it breaking on me. i'm happy.
if i do another one, i'll know what i'm getting into with woodwork, tolex, grill cloth installation and pem nuts. all quite an adventure for the first time.

          looks great!

If you wanna fill in those corners where you had to cut the tolex around the control cutout, here is a little trick I came up with: take a piece of paper and a pencil or pen and hold it up to the place where the tolex is missing. Make a rubbing of the piece that is missing, making sure you get lines drawn where the tolex is missing. Next, put that onto a piece of scrap tolex and use an xacto knife and cut it for an exact fit. Make sure you leave a little tab on the end of the little tolex pieces to wrap around to the inside of the cab. Glue it up, and hold it against the inside of the curve with your hand for about five min (the hardest part, for sure). Let me take a pic, I'll post it for you to see the result.

Beautiful. What circuit did you use?

ID:	820580 here is a picture of the result. You can see, if you look really closely, in the corner there are two upside down v shaped pieces of tolex spliced in. It came out really nice.

Looks invisible in fact. I must say your amps are lookin' good too. (The bits of them I can see anyhow)

Thanks tubeswell. It is hard to see, but that may be partially due to the pic. I took it on my iPad, which has a decent camera but doesn't handle poor lighting very well. Maybe that should have been done outdoors.

cminor9, that's just what i needed to see. those tolex voids have been bugging me. good thing i kept scraps.
the circuit is my flavor of the familiar (2) 12ax7 stages into cathode follower stage, tone stack, pi, 2 el84. it works great for what i need it to do.

Looks great mate... good work. I have a few amps completed now and it is time to make the cabs. Did you use finger joints or dovetails for your cab? What type of glue did you use? Any pics of the build in progress? Cheers

                            You've got talent

That woodworking is so neat, I'd have varnished it and not covered it in tolex. If you happen to have a look at some Marshall heads without the tolex on, they look like Robocop after he's been shot.

no no no...i can't take credit for the actual woodwork. i don't have those kinds of tools...yet. for that i called in a favor. i just made the plans for the box and made sure they were compulsively followed haha.
i thought about staining the cabinet, but just in moving it around it got dinged up noticeably. pine is soft stuff...but light and i wanted light. no free lunch again.
