  • TopCoat Wire

Not all TopCoat is Created equal.
I like the Pre Tinned 20 Gauge wire.
The Problem is with the Insulation.
I bought some from Mojo, it looks great.
But, when you go to solder on it It Melts and gets gooy to Damn Easy.
I cut some Access TopCoat from a Transformer Tail.
It is what I'm looking for.
It is nearly as tough and heat resistant as Teflon.
I wonder where they get the stuff?
I've tried the Tube Depot, and it might be a little tougher than the Mojo, but It's not Pre-Tinned.
    Your Thoughts!

They make heat sinks for soldering wire, they look like little thin alligator clips. I often just use a small alligator clip..CLip to the wire just between the end of the insulation and the solder work. Got a dull pair of dikes? A weak rubber band around the handle, then clamp it onto the wire just at the end of the insulation, as if you were going to snip the wire, but don;t squeeze the dikes. The sharpnes of the blade means you can get it very close to the solder but still not in the way.

Here, I found them. I searched "heat sink tool" at MCM.
