  • New Amp Build?

Hey guys, I have a new set of 30 watt Matchless transformers and I was wondering if anyone here had some suggestions on a Marshall style amp that I could use these in. I'm thinking of using el34's. Any suggestions or schematic/layouts would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Chuck:
There are several you could build.
You will need to check Your Transformers for Heater Load Capacity.
    1987 Circuit, the 2204, JTM45, JTM50.
Ceriatone site has Layouts, as does TriodeStore.
CeriaTone.Com - DIY Guitar Tube Amp
    Tube Amp Kits and Gear
Classic British JTM45+ Tube Guitar Amp Kit - Head
Don't forget the TrainWreck Amps, they fall in that size also.

    Good Luck,

+1 on the Trainwrecks. The Liverpool has a nice agressive Marshall-ly crunch, but with EL84s. If you want something Marshall-ly and really want to go with EL34s, you may have to do a hybrid if you go the Trainwreck route.

The AmpGarage guys have lots of detailed BOMs and layouts.
