    Steve, I found my nuvistors. What I have here are 7586 as well, under it says 22Z. On the sides it says RCA nuvistor 6-35 or may be 6-D5, kinda blurry. I only found two, but I know there's more here somewhere because these were a present from a friend of mine.

    You know I'm not a electrical engineer, I just use my ears a pursue a tone using what I know. So if any of that circuit finds its way into Sacred Cowburger's amplifier, I'll be proud as heck

      The submini's I have are 7537's. Mil-spec twin triodes but only medium-mu. Good for 300V on the plates. So two won't have quite the same characteristics as a pair of 12ax7's but I think I can make something workable. It's the simplicity of your circuit with the complexity of available tone that intrigues me. That and the fact that you want it to be Creative Commons.

        I'm not familiar with the 7537's, in fact I've had few submini's in my hands and I looked at them as a curiosity, I've never actually hooked one up. So I'm curious to hear what will come of it
