  • Chassis, faceplate and tag board dimensions

Does anyone know the dimensions of the original chassis in a 5E7 / 5F4 / 5E5? They're all about the same circuit in similarly sized cabinets. I'm mainly concerned about the height when installed in the cabinet. I've seen some chassis that are 6-1/2" and others that are only 4-1/8". Or I can bend one in whatever size is necessary. The smaller chassis is more appealing if it will fit the tag board with some clearance for the controls and tube sockets. Which is the next question:

What are the dimensions of a 5E7 / 5F4 / 5E5 eyelet board and where can I find a drawing that shows the placement of the eyelets? If anyone has a new one they haven't used yet and wouldn't mind scanning it to get a good straight on image, I can probably figure it out from there.

My final question is about faceplates. I know the order of the components but I'd like to know about spacing to get it right. Chicken head knobs, for example, are 1-1/4" long so the pots must be on 1-1/2" centers, or not? How far apart are the jacks typically spaced? Everything is laid out on a straight centerline, but how far is that line from the open side of the chassis? I'm hoping to make my own face plate but I'd like to have a basis to start from.

Anyone know where I can find these facts?

    Thanks.

I have a Weber eyelet board for a 5E7 (actually two eyelet boards, one is the bottom for insulation) that you can have. If you're interested just PM your address.

I built a 5F6A clone, but it's in a Weber 5E7 cabinet and chassis (Weber's 5E7M chassis). I didn't need the original eyelet board since a friend did a 5F6 turret board for the amp.

PM sent. Thank you for the generous offer. I'll be sure to document the placement of the holes for the next person who wants them.

You are the man! I've been searching for exactly that. I want to layout my own control panel without the ground switch and maybe stak the fuse and pilot light. I'll either bend or have bent a chassis and make a separate face plate. This will help enormously. Thanks.
