        They really are quite easy to learn, especially if you start with something small and double sided. You just have to invest a few hours.

        Anyway, getting back to the original point of this: To come up with a PCB that

        • Could be used instead of turret/eyelet boards
        • Cost less
        • Be off the shelf
        • Saves time
        • That would, as far as possible, be universal
        • Can have components soldered / removed from the top, just like turret/eyelets


        This is what I've come up with now. The shows what the board look like and an example of an AA764 layout ( it could be better) just for fun.

        I've worked with PCB vendors and come up with an under $1 price per board - compare that to $27.50 for an unloaded off the shelf AA764 turret board. Now, the crucial question - is anyone interested?
